Greg Stanger has been appointed Chief Financial Officer at Duetto Research. Mr. Stanger comes to Duetto with significant senior level financial management experience at technology companies, including CFO roles at Expedia, Chegg and oDesk. He has also served as a Board Member for companies including Netflix and Kayak, and as a Venture Partner at Technology Crossover Ventures.
Michael McCartan has joined Duetto as Managing Director for EMEA. Mr. McCartan was most recently Chief Executive Officer of eRevMax; he had previously held senior management positions at Pegasus Solutions and at UK-based Computer and Design Services.

Rehan Jaddi has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Customer Support & Service Solutions at Agilysys; he
was previously Vice President of Product Development Engineering. Mr. Jaddi joined Agilysys in 2012; he was previously a principal group program manager at Microsoft, and earlier served as a consulting manager at Accenture and as structural engineer and IT manager at AKB Consulting Engineers, KPFF Consulting Engineers and Millegan & Jaddi Consulting Engineers.

Doug Rice’s contract as CEO of HTNG has been extended for the next two years. He has also announced his intention to retire at the end of that period, or earlier if a successor has been selected. HTNG’s Succession Planning Committee will begin interviewing qualified candidates, both internal and external, in the near future.

Heather Leisman has joined TripAdvisor as Vice President, Industry Marketing. Bringing more than 19 years of experience in the travel industry, Ms. Leisman joins from HotelTonight, where she served as Managing Director, EMEA.
She had previously worked as Senior Director of Merchandising at Orbitz.

Rachel Grier has been appointed Managing Director Asia at IDeaS Revenue Solutions, based in Singapore. With long experience in hotel industry sales and regional business operations, Ms. Grier most recently held the position of Senior Vice President Sales, Asia Pacific and the Middle East for Pegasus Solutions. She had previously worked as Area Director of Sales and Marketing for InterContinental Hotel Group in Japan, and had earlier held senior sales and marketing roles in hotel organizations including Per AQUUMResorts, Spas, and Residences and Rendezvous Hotels International.

Bob Post is the new President and Chief Executive Officer at Thing5. Mr. Post is a former TravelCLICK CEO and senior MICROS executive.

The 318-room Nemacolin Woodlands Resort has selected the PAR Springer-Miller Systems’ Host Guest Management System & Touch POS. The Resort includes three hotels, two-bedroom townhomes, private homes and an RV Park. Specific Host modules to be implemented include Multi-Property Management, Owner Fulfillment, Work Order Management and Golf Tee Time Scheduling; the Woodlands Spa already uses Springer-Miller’s SpaSoft. Guestline has launched a version of its cloud-based GMS for the serviced apartment and extended stay sector; early clients include SACO, Prestige and The Spires Serviced Apartments. The application includes a central invoicing module and centralized property management to manage availability for all apartment sites from one location and to manage multi-property reservations. Wyndham Hotel Group has signed with Sabre Corp for its SynXis Enterprise Platform cloud-based reservations, revenue management and enhanced security services. Wyndham has approximately 7,590 properties franchised under brands including Microtel Inn & Suites, Days Inn, Super 8 and Ramada. Beginning mid-2015 over 4,500 of its North American properties will migrate to Sabre’s SynXis Property Manager, a current version of the SoftHotel system they currently use and which was acquired by Sabre. The system will offer hotel owners an integrated and automated revenue management system to help optimize rates, occupancy and revenue per available room, while enhancing hotel-level security with credit card functionality that supports tokenization and chip and pin technology.
Sabre has sold Lastminute.com, its European online travel agency, to the Bravofly Rumbo Group. The sale will include all of Lastminute.com’s operations in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. Lastminute.com was acquired by Sabre in 2005.

Hotel Link Solutions has released its free digital HealthCheck service to help hotels balance their digital marketing efforts. HealthCheck analyses 55 data points in the accommodation buying cycle, from how a hotel gets discovered through looking at conversions from visits to sales, and on to the social dimension – experiencing and sharing. Each data point is weighted according to the impact Hotel Link Solutions has determined after looking at the information from their pilot work. Overlaying this are other factors such as the level of local competition along with the size of the property and its online reputation. The 416-room Lancaster London hotel is installing beacon mobile tracking technology in its new event app, which launches in January 2015. The app’s ‘Indoor Positioning’ function provides an interactive map of the venue, enabling guests to quickly locate themselves, other guests/delegates and areas of interest within the venue. The new beacons (installed by Live Group) will interact with delegates’ smartphones as they move around a venue, allowing the delivery of live location-specific information. (www.lancasterlondon.com)

InterContinental’s Indigo Hotel-Opera in central Paris has deployed Otrum’s IPTV services.   • The Merchant Financial Cyber Partnership announces further steps to strengthen payments security

The Merchant Financial Cyber Partnership has announced further steps for the financial and merchant industries to strengthen the security of the payments system. The eight next steps include threat information sharing, cyber risk mitigation, advanced card present & card not present security technology and cyber security legislation. The Partnership has sent a letter to Congress outlining joint principles for legislation to enhance cyber security across both industries. Established in February this year, participants in the Partnership include eight financial associations (American Bankers Association, Consumer Bankers Association, Electronic Transactions Association, Financial Services Forum, Financial Services Roundtable, Independent Community Bankers of America, The Clearing House, NACHA—The Electronic Payments Association) and eleven merchant associations (American Hotel and Lodging Association, Food Marketing Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, International Franchise Association, Merchant Advisory Group, National Association of Chain Drug Stores, National Association of Convenience Stores, National Grocers Association, National Restaurant Association, National Retail Federation, Retail Industry Leaders Association), as well as executives from financial institutions, card companies and merchants.   • Hotel WiFi Test launches Monitoring and Certification Program

Hotel WiFi Test has launched a Monitoring and Certification Program to help hotels with good WiFi to monetize their investments and encourage other hotels to improve their WiFi quality. Travelers will also be able to obtain detailed information about WiFi quality of hotels participating in the program. An addition to the existing crowdsourced data, the new methodology provides a monitoring device for a hotel to connect to its WiFi network in the same way guests do.
